Pastor of Worship/Media

Principle Function:
The Worship/Media Pastor is to provide planning, coordination, direction, and evaluation of the worship and media ministry of the church.
Responsible To:
The Worship/Media Pastor is responsible to the Executive Pastor.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary worship leader during the 10:45 contemporary worship services.
- Oversee all elements - music, audio/visual, volunteers, etc. - of contemporary services
- Oversee and disciple volunteer teams, including the Worship Band, Producers, Media and Lighting Technicians, Audio Engineers and Stage Crew
- Develop leaders within the contemporary worship ministry
- Recruit volunteers in all areas of contemporary worship and media/communication
- Planning:
- Coordinate worship planning with the Senior Pastor regarding sermon topics, etc.
- Plan worship services one month prior with a volunteer worship planning team.
- Coordinate with traditional worship leader on media needs, special events, etc.
- Lead rehearsals Thursday nights 6:30-8:30 p.m.
- Band rehearsal, team devotional, full run-through of service
- Provide worship order, set lists, chords, lyrics, recordings, and other needed information to the Senior Pastor, Worship Team, other relevant staff and volunteers in a timely fashion
- Oversee scheduling via Planning Center of all contemporary worship ministry volunteers
- Oversee discovery and addition of new songs to the repertoire
- Maintain Planning Center song and volunteer databases (add and archive as needed)
- Oversee CCLI account maintenance and reporting.
- Oversee curation of all visual media
- Oversee maintenance of worship facilities equipment, including lighting, A/V systems
- Oversee everything needed for the live stream
Media and Communication:
- Create videos (including weekly announcements), graphics, and presentation materials for use in worship services and online and/or oversee their creation by volunteers
- Oversee social media and online presence
- org, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo
- Serve on the Communication Team, which conducts the development of a church-wide communication strategy
- Provide media and communication support to other ministries as needed
7. Participate in the staff visitation program to prospective members, potential leaders, and hospital and crisis visitation.
- Study and make recommendations for needed changes in the worship/media ministry, such as the use of space, organizational changes, equipment and furnishings needs, and the policies and procedures of the operation.
- Prepare the annual budget for the worship/media ministry and administer the approved budget according to policy.
- Establish regular office hours and submit a weekly work plan to the Executive Pastor. Notify the Executive Pastor when changes are made to the work plan.
11. Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Religious Aspect:
The Worship/Media Pastor must be a member in good standing of a Southern Baptist Church and a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, who, therefore, diligently seeks to live in accordance with Biblical mandates, including tithing to the church.
